Vocabulary profile and lexical bundles are having a crucial role in academic writing. A words "vocabulary profile" refers to a document that details which words and phrases learners at each level of the Common European Framework know and use (CEF). Lexical bundles, so according Biber et al. (1999, 990), are a repeated sequence of three or more words that frequently occur together in normal language. Both have a correlation to a student's academic writing.

The vocabulary profile can help you improve your knowledge and abilities in a variety of fields related to language and literacy. It's utilized for both written and spoken utterance and also the percentage of words used at various levels, such as one thousand most common words (K1), the next thousand most common words (K2) - (70% for K1 and K2), the academic Word List (AWL), or its predecessor, the University Word List (UWL) – (8%-10%), and off list words (proper names, technical words) – (8%-10%). In addition, lexical knowledge, literacy, and metalinguistics awareness are three different research strands in vocabulary studies. Lexical knowledge is essential knowledge when writing that can be expressed in words, so that, learners will be able in form (spoken, written, word part), to convey meanings more clearly (form and meaning, concepts and references, associations), and also in use (grammatical functions, collocations, constraints on use). Then as stated by Corson’s work (1986,1997), he said that the importance of the mastery of medium to low frequency words of Greek or Latin origin to the academic success of many learners. The last, metalinguistics awareness is something significant for EFL students.

            On the other hand, the function of lexical bundles to make us fluency in written or spoken. Because the use of lexical bundles in order to we can connect our ideas from one to another. For example, you want to express contradiction, so what kind of expression that you can use. And it would make your written or spoken sounds very good if it is supported with an analysis, you can find out the lexical bundles, then you use and develop it.

In conclusion, the material given by Dr. C. I Wayan Eka Budiartha is significant for me. Either vocabulary profile or lexical bundles are beneficial to my writing. Because I can add my knowledge about what vocabulary (words) or conjunction that appropriate to connect a sentence or paragraph from one to another in my written. Then it is kind of soft skill that I need also to have a critical thinking and good communicated in the future.
